The model:  At the end of the 2011 season, Mitch made some modifications to his 88 Pringles hull.  Like the real boat, the edges were radiused.  He removed the canope, closed the holes and turned it over to West Coast Custom boats to make a mold off of it.  The 92 Tide was the first boat from that mold.  Mitch finished the hull, vacuum formed the new cowlings, canopy and wings for it and got it painted and geared up in time for the 2012 season.  So far the boat looks every bit as competitive it's 2-time championship predecessor.  Look out for this one.

The real boat:  George Woods Jr. drove this boat to a dramatic win in Seattle in 1992 ,coming from behind to defeat Scott Pierce who happened to be driving he Miss Budweiser that day for an injured Chip Hanauer.  Ironically, the Tide began life as the 88 Mr. Pringles, driven by Scott Pierce.
