The model:  Nels debuted this nice model in 2011.  It's first showing in CT was at the Freedom Cup in Covington. Nels has driven the boat consistently since then and is still a consistent performer with it today. It saw limited action in 2019 but still finished in the top 10 in season points.

The real boat:  This boat is most known for being the first cabover designed boat to win an unlimited event.  In 1973 it took a surprising win at the Presidents Cup with replacement driver Gene Whipp behind the wheel.  Bob Fendler owned the boat.  After winning the race, driver Whipp promptly retired as the only undefeated driver in history.
